Type 8: Red Stripe Top (1980-Now)

Scouting returns to its outdoor roots.  The basic cover format of Type 7 is retained but the color is changed to reinforce the fact these aren't that "1970s stuff."  The insides also show a return to the higher standards of the pre-1970s.  Type 8 is still in use and going strong, yet the sharp eyed observer would notice some front cover photographs have changed to indicate revised requirements inside.
