FIRST EDITION (1967-1986)
Edition
Notes: The uncredited cover art showed off the new
outdoor emphasis for Webelos Scouts. 300 pages eventually dropping
to 284. Size 5 3/8” x 8”. Illustrations were two color sketches in
various colors with black.
Historical Notes: Lion rank
disappeared in 1967 to make way for a newly expanded Webelos
program. Quote: You
can earn money for your uniform by making and selling handicraft
articles, weeding gardens, shoveling snow, mowing lawns, cleaning
windows, taking care of a furnace, removing ashes, washing cars,
washing dogs, taking care of pets while owners are away,
baby-sitting, or running errands. The distinctive parts of
your Webelos Scout uniform tell everyone that you are an older Cub
Scout, a member of the Webelos den, and that you expect to become a
Boy Scout when you graduate from the pack. |
